“Jesus Christ lived the life you should have lived and died the death you should have died as your Substitute, so that God can receive you not for your record and for your sake, but for Jesus’ record and for His sake.”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“Jesus Christ lived the life you should have lived and died the death you should have died as your Substitute, so that God can receive you not for your record and for your sake, but for Jesus’ record and for His sake.” Intro – one of the most unusual and dramatic accounts of the death of Christ is found in Mt. 27:45-54…
-in this account we read of events that I can only describe as phenomenal…events that took place at the very moment Christ breathed his last breath on the cross…events so unusual and strange that they can only be understood as supernatural acts of God meant to impact us deeply and teach us profound spiritual truth… Intro -these past few weeks I’ve been telling the Biblical story of reconciliation from the beginning, from the first two chapters of Genesis…
-and we’ve discovered some very good news, that God designed us for perfect harmony in the four major relationships of life: with Himself, within ourselves, with others and with the world He created and placed us in… Pastor Bob brings us the second part of the message explaining how God has designed us. The readings are from Genesis 2:18-25 and 3:8-9.
Hebrews 2:14-17
Pastor Bob spoke briefly about our salvation in Christ, using water rescue as an analogy. The result is that the person is lifted out of the situation, leaving Christ alone in the water. |
